Fried Rice

Well that was quick. Almost as soon as it began, the Simeon Rice experiment is over. Despite collecting a Mathis-induced sack last Thursday, the Colts released the pass rushing DE today. He hadn't made much impact in two games (he did sniff out a screen pass against KC, but jumped off side costing the Colts a score against Atlanta).

Hey, it was worth a try. Demond suspects the Colts will move Brock to the outside (he has been on a freaking tear of late), and use the rookies inside at DT. I think it's hard to move around a guy who has been ragingly effective inside. At any rate, Luke Lawton is back, which should help the special teams.

Having a real fullback again should also help run the ball into the endzone instead of settling for a fieldgoal, which I've seen way too much the last few weeks. (especially v Patriots)

Yeah, and settling for a field goal lately has seemed akin to settling for nothing.

Not that I'm bitter...

ESPN is reporting that Roosevelt Colvin is out for the year with a foot injury.

The first domino...or an isolated event? Only time will tell.

zac,
I think it's the first domino and driving hard for 16-0, then 17-0, then 18-0 when they face the Colts again will break off a few more pieces of their machine. Hard to believe Moss has avoided what had been sort of an annual hamstring issue. Oh well. And Rodney HGHarrison has avoided it as well--I guess it's up to Marvin to break his shoulder blade again when HGHarrison facemasks him again.
