More Cuts

The Colts have claimed LB Buster Davis from Detroit and DT Daniel Muir from Green Bay. In order to make room on the 53 man roster they have cut safety Jamie Silva and LB Ramon Guzman.

Buster Davis was highly touted coming out of FSU despite being only 5' 9" tall. I remember reading his name in connection with the Colts leading up to the 2007 draft. He was picked by Arizona in the third round. He was later cut by the Cardinals and spent the season on the Detroit practice squad. He appeared in just one game. Check out the Freep for his full backstory.

Cutting Guzman is surprising, so they must really like Buster Davis a lot. I didn't think Silva would make the team anyway, so I'm not as shocked by that, and getting another D-tackle is probably a good move.

According to the new Colts.com depth chart both new acquisitions are second string. Davis backing up Brackett at MLB and Muir behind Ed Johnson as the over-tackle.

For such a studious, careful organization, I am also surprized that they'd cut somebody they've had for a couple seasons for someone they most likely have only seen on film.... from college, and maybe met at the combine. Yup, I'm guessing they love Davis, but I hope they're right. 2nd string? On this team, that does not mean bench warmer unless you're QB.

They'd probably slide guys over from other spots before starting the new guys, at least for now. But, they'll play.

I know you hate the Jags but you don't have to break off 4 shots in their left tackle.

That's cold.

Yeah, let's just hope there were no Belgian pistols involved.

It was probably too difficult to get by Jags security to place a chopping block and sharpened axe in their locker room.

One of the all-time doofus moves.
