Among the best

Michael Silver, who continues his exile from public consciousness by writing for yahoo.com, has released his annual owner rankings. This time he gives a lot more love to Jimmy Irsay. I still can't fathom his love affair with Dan Snyder, but being in the top 6 is a good start. Irsay has been everything a fan could hope for in an owner.

Who's the worst? Look to our brothers in the AFC South...the Jholes! Yes folks, Wayne Weaver was ranked as the worst owner in the NFL. The write up on him is hilarious...

"He’s totally and completely out for his bottom line, and the league’s best interest is not in his mind at all.” Echoed a second owner: “He’s been actively trying to sell for a year-and-a-half, and he’s totally checked out. He knows it won’t work in Jacksonville."

Links: CHFF lists the best coaches of all time. The results prompt them to call the Colts/Pats rivalry perhaps the greatest ever. The 49ers and Cowboys of the 90s might argue with that, but if one of those two teams takes home another title or two, the debate will be settled.

No problem with Kraft at No 1 and glad Irsay finally gets recognition, though that could be higher. Surprised the Rooneys are as low as 15.

Wayne Weaver.... can that be real? Jeez, if so, it makes it seem like you guys have been going EASY on him, the city, and Jack of the River. Despite all that, the team is dong very well. What gives? Would they be better with a quality coach, owner, and municipality/fan base? Maybe we (as Colt fans) would prefer status quo down there....

Let's move the Jags from Jacksonville to Orlando. Much bigger media market.

Maybe the fans won't, you know, suck. As much.

Too close to Tampa Bay. It cuts into their market. I'm still waiting for the LA Jags to join the NFC west and for the St. Louis Rams to line up with the Colts, Titans, and Houston in the new AFC Midwest.

The AFC Midwest is going to rule. We've had this theoretical division rolling around in our heads for awhile, but now it has a name.

It's gonna happen.

Like anyone gives a rat's ass about Tampa Bay.

If the Jags were to move to LA, then they'd inevitably be rolled into the AFC West in a trade for the Rams. Who would probably relocate to Orange County shortly thereafter. The AFC South would probably have to take Kansas City, as it would no longer make any sense for them to be part of the AFC West. So, the AFC West would be realigned to be the LA Jaguars, the OC Rams, the Oakland Raiders, and the San Diego Chargers, where the still named AFC South (because you can't call it the AFC Midwest if you have a team below the Mason Dixon Line) would have the Colts, Chiefs, Titans, and Texans.

Basically, we'd be looking at unbroken streak of division titles from here until Manning's retirement, most likely sometime in 2016. Probably another Super Bowl or three. Owner of every major record for a QB, save interceptions. Favre can keep that one.

the chiefs are unlikely to move divisions due to VERY old afl rivalries. It's more probable to move the Rams who are out of place AND don't have history with the odd NFC west.
