Colts retain DE Josh Thomas

Josh Thomas has signed a one year deal to return to the Colts for the 2008 season. This is good news for the Colts. Thomas is a very useful player and can step in and play well in a pinch. He's not close to being a starting-caliber player, but he did make some great plays during the regular season. The position of Defensive End continues to be the big question mark that prevents the Colts from being my prohibitive AFC favorite for next year's Super Bowl. This is a good thing.

GREAT news on Josh Thomas. I was a little bummed that he had been talking with other teams. I thought he stepped in better at DE than our subs did at OT. (muu\st stop fist of death...) Still a big dropoff from Freeney, but competent and a useful guy in rotation. I was a little surprised that the Ed Johnson re-signing was not a bigger deal.

It's official.

The Celtics are very, very good.

All in all, I think it has been a great free agency period for us. With Utecht gone hopefully Bryan Fletcher will get a bigger role and I think he's a bigger threat in the passing game than Utecht was. Looking forward to that dream package of Wayne, Marv, Dallas, and Gonzo, though... :)
