Why not keep the option open if it doesn't cost you anything (they are too hurt to practice so them not being allowed to doesn't matter)shake'n'bakehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18381489530841295597noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1364482294646808855.post-75146962591827847582008-07-27T13:27:00.000-04:002008-07-27T13:27:00.000-04:00Ouch. The Pplayer can't return until after week 6. After week 6 the team has 3 weeks to IR, release, or add the player to the roster. Players on the reserve PUP list count against the roster limit until the rosters are cut to the final 53, then they don't count for up to 9 weeks of the season.

The active PUP list is for training camp. Players can't practice and can't be put on the list once they have practiced. Players can be taken off the list at any time. Players on the list count against the 80 man limit.

So why use the active PUP list?
A player must be on the active PUP list to be able to be put on the reserve or regular season PUP list.
So the players are being put on the active PUP list to keep the option of the regular season PUP list open.shake'n'bakehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18381489530841295597noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1364482294646808855.post-50022622297814351482008-07-27T12:01:00.000-04:002008-07-27T12:01:00.000-04:00yes, details coming soonyes, details coming soonDeshawn Zombiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12953118295688192978noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1364482294646808855.post-90094814728548836172008-07-27T11:36:00.000-04:002008-07-27T11:36:00.000-04:00Are you going to have the fantasy league again thi...Are you going to have the fantasy league again this year???Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1364482294646808855.post-73068195847667756132008-07-27T06:53:00.000-04:002008-07-27T06:53:00.000-04:00I'm not sure why you'd put guys on it, other than ...I'm not sure why you'd put guys on it, other than to explain to the media why a guy isn't practicing.

It's one of the "NFL bows to gamblers" rules that are sprinkled around football.Deshawn Zombiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12953118295688192978noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1364482294646808855.post-19075522791721059192008-07-26T23:38:00.000-04:002008-07-26T23:38:00.000-04:00Oh, and I think I figured out the 81-man roster.
