I'll buy that over the year that they didn't get to practice together Marvin slowed down a bit, but he's still getting open.shake'n'bakehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18381489530841295597noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1364482294646808855.post-64652726131658049712008-11-10T07:40:00.000-03:002008-11-10T07:40:00.000-03:00You notice Manning throws either too far or ahead ...You notice Manning throws either too far or ahead of Marvin usually... that leads me to believe Marv isn't quite as fast as he used to be. Manning isn't off-target because of his accuracy, it's because he expects Marvin to be further along in his routes than he is. Look at that deep ball that would have been a TD. That's a pretty routine post-pattern there and was just a couple feet out of Marvin's reach. No way Peyton just missed him. No way.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1364482294646808855.post-7123386254434539282008-11-09T23:59:00.000-03:002008-11-09T23:59:00.000-03:00Demond,I'd break them down thus:1 - Harrison was i...Demond,

I'd break them down thus:

1 - Harrison was inches short, but was clearly impeded/hand-checked, which made the difference in being able to catch the ball

2 - Timing off, as Manning was pressured

3 - Harrison clearly should have made the goal-line catch. That one is all on him.

I still don't buy the "Harrison is off a step" meme.chipbennetthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14595891619752903883noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1364482294646808855.post-80506425831611286722008-11-09T23:14:00.000-03:002008-11-09T23:14:00.000-03:00Yeah, there were several missed passes in Marvin's...Yeah, there were several missed passes in Marvin's direction. One at the goal line he should have had for a touchdown. One that was just beyond him deep. And a third that was hard to place blame either way because Peyton was under pressure.

In other words he played exactly how he's played all season. Frustratingly close to several huge plays. At some point you have to place blame somewhere. I'm still not ready to do that.Demond Sandershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02321360642491061693noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1364482294646808855.post-54461793106341009312008-11-09T23:04:00.000-03:002008-11-09T23:04:00.000-03:00I have to admit that I didn't have high hopes for ...I have to admit that I didn't have high hopes for this game, and then after raking leaves all afternoon, I slept through a great deal of it. I was awake for the first quarter and the last twelve minutes. For me it was a good game, but my husband tells me that Marvin missed/dropped a couple of great passes that he should have had.
